New York Yankees have lost Captain Derek Jeter for the rest of the postseason with a broken left ankle. The injury occurred when Jeter attempted to field a ground ball and rolled his left ankle as he dove, then grimacing in pain as he flipped the ball to second base. This is a huge loss for the Yanks, as Jeter is one of their best hitters this season, batting .316 in the regular season and .333 in the postseason. The Yankees lost ALCS game 1 to the Detroit Tigers 6-4 in 12 innings, to add (literal) insult to injury. Let's see how the Bronx Bombers rally without their (future) Hall of Fame shortstop and captain.
ALCS Game 2 is Sunday 4:00pm at Yankee Stadium.
